Physical therapy for cerebral palsy
Physical therapy for cerebral palsy is important for a child with CP for her physical growth. Every child, including a child with disabilities needs to develop in several different ways. The five main different areas of development are: • Physical growth • Affection • Intellectual • Social • Spiritual Physical therapy for a child with disabilities is very important and as a family we have bought some basic physical training equipment for use by our daughter. At certain intervals we take her for physiotherapy exercises at local clinic or a physiotherapist visits our home for the exercises.
As a family, we have realised that children are beautiful gifts from god and need to grow. As a family we have nurtured physical growth of our daughter just like any other child in the family. For a child to physically grow he/she needs the six types of food mixed in the right proportions to make a balanced diet. For Christabel, we ensured that she attended the under five clinic and we were monitoring her growth. Her physical growth was normal and we were very happy with her progression. We also ensured that she had medical care and cleanliness. Christabel is able to wash her own clothes, bathe and dress herself. As a teenager, she personally asks for items such as powder, roll on, perfume and lotion. She is also very particular at the way her hair looks. Overall, she likes any girl, and wants to look nice and clean.
