Kid with cerebral palsy

A kid with cerebral palsy, needs to develop in several different ways and in this article, I will focus on disability and socialising. A child with cerebral palsy needs to be taught how to relate with others, parents and sisters/brothers and friends and how to share. All children must learn good manners. When do we start? The earlier the better.

Christabel is allowed to go for holidays to some close relatives for a couple of days during school holidays. Sometimes she also goes for day visits. We also take her to some zoos, shopping mall and other exciting places. She gets very happy to get out from home since she spends most her time at home.

Our daughter, as a child with cerebral palsy we are aware that her movements are limited and there is a danger that she can be become overweight. To overcome this, she is put on regular exercises and at certain intervals she under goes some physiotherapy exercises with a trained physiotherapist. Her weight is regularly monitored.

Christabel is very good at remembering names of people and she is usually the first one to say a greeting with a broad smile when she meets a person. Many people get attracted to her charming and warm smile. When I am alone or I am with my wife when we meet other people after greeting each other the next thing they will ask is “How is Christabel?” We feel touched by this concern about the well being of Christabel. This brings untold happiness and joy to Happy and Protasio.
