Disability and Intellectual Development

In this article, I will focus on disability and intellectual development. A child with disabilities needs to go to school and parents must show interest in his/her studies.

Christabel is doing grade 7 this year and both the mother and I are very much interested in her academic work. She tends to rely more on daddy for her homework than mummy. This sometimes creates some burden on me as the dad but somehow we manage to sort out the issues as a family.

Christabel usually as a phobia for examinations this is why it has taken a bit long for her to sit for her grade 7 examinations. She had to be counselled by a school counsellor and also by the parents. She has done some mock examinations. When she was writing mock examinations she could excited when she knew the answer and in the process she would break the pencil. She broke the pencil several times because of the excitement. At the moment she has gained confidence and she is now looking forward to writing the final examinations.

Parents need to grow intellectually as can be seen in parents and intellectual development.
