Cerebral Palsy Care

Cerebral palsy care is one way of parents looking after a daughter with disabilities. Some one out there in the street or indeed in a home may take advantage of a girl with disabilities and abuse her in one way or other. Generally, the immediate family is the one which provide cerebral palsy care because of the closeness. Parents are more protective towards their daughters with cerebral palsy or other disabilities.

Apprehension or worry on safety of a girl with disabilities is always lingering in the mind of parents, especially when the girl is out of home on her own.

Other parents have shown concern and worry about their daughters with cerebral palsy or the disabilities. Parents are worried about their daughter to live on their own.Our daughter is now 22 years old and we are not sure about the issue of independent living. She is still in secondary school. She will be doing grade 9 in 2012. When we look at her say in 10 to 20 years time from now, God willing, we believe she will still be staying with us . Our plan as parents is to live with her in unity and love for all our lives.

Caring for a child with cerebral palsy has its own good side and bad side. I will dwell more on the good side rather than on the bad side. Caring for our daughter ahs brought untold happiness and joy in the family. Caring for our daughter has brought the immediate family closer to each other and we support each other in what we do.

Relatives and friends like our daughter very much, and they show compassion to her. We cerebral he birthdays with close relative and friends with zeal and joy.

One of the challenges which we experience is bad moods by our daughter. This is not often but once she is bad mood she really spoils the day. Fortunately the bad mood does not last long. Another challenge of caring for our daughter is when it is raining, we are unable to take her out and she remains indoors.
